umbral clarity?

This title arrived from me unbidden and I have had to let it unpack itself over time. Firstly it relates to eclipses, as an umbra is the exclusion of light cast by a planetary body during an eclipse. Eclipses are ouroboric, serpentine. Being perfect syzygial alignments that seem to alter the natural course of events, they are impossible contradictions which nonetheless regularly occur.

Next, the idea that we can escape the prevailing situation of the platonic cave is a delusion. However, the light can be ascertained by the demarcated inversion of shadow. The light is consciousness itself, and one cannot get outside of consciousness to view it in the same way as the appearances of the cave wall. They are qualitatively distinct, yet inseparably arising— their simultaneous total conjunction and total opposition is eclipse-like. This is the interplay from which all occurring moments draw their character and through which cognition becomes clear.

I love impossible contradictions. 'Umbral Clarity' implies an impossible contradiction. These are happening all the time, perhaps even somewhere near you. Sitting with these contradictions is the precondition to the possibility of their revealing themselves in their truth.
